Series SH-A high-voltage air-break magnetic contactors includes:

        Type SH-A: 3.3 kV,  25MVA
        Type 6SH-A: 6.6 kV,  25MVA

These contactors are suitable for control of motors and such other AC loads as transformers and capacitors.  However, Type SH-A[] R contactors are limited in their applicability to the short circuiting, without circuit interruption, of reactors, autotransformers and resistors.

The Type SH-100ED,  with ratings of 3.3kV, 100A, 10MVA, is a special-use contactor designed for control of building air-conditioner motors.

SH-A and 6SH-A  contactors comprise AC-operated types with a rectifier, DC-operated types, mechanically latched types, types with single-side arrangement of the main terminals, and reversing types.  The outstanding features of these contactors are compact size, high interrupting capacity and high switching frequency.  Superior performance is achieved by virtue of the zirconium-ceramic arc-extinguishing chambers and the higher dielectric strength gained by the introduction of a two-piece, insulation-separated shaft, and by screwless mounting of the terminals to the insulated base.
