Mitsubishi
Electric offers a wide selection of power fuses of diverse characteristics, to
satisfy almost any application within the practical range of such interrupting
devices. The principal types of Mitsubishi power fuses are :
Non-dropout
refill expulsion power fuses (Type BA).
Dropout
expulsion power fuses (Type DBA).
Current-limiting
non-vented power fuses for backup (Types CL, PL, BAL, and CLS).
These different types have been developed to meet widely differing application
requirements. Because of the limitations of their individual design
features, no single type can cover the full range of system voltage, load
current, and fault current. Nevertheless, the areas of applicability
overlap to a considerable extent, and in these areas, space and service
requirements and economic considerations govern the selection.
Fuses are selected on the basis of breaking capacity, continuous current
ratings, and melting characteristics. The melting characteristics are
described chiefly by the minimum melting current and by the slope of the melting
time-current curve. Detailed information on this characteristic will be
given on request.
The characteristics of these fuses conform to IEC282-1 or -2. In addition, Types
BA and DBA satisfy the test conditions specified in ANSI C37.46.
